KEYNOTE: Lessons Learned From Our $20 Million Dollar Real Estate Portfolio Over 30 Years Invested

JEFF MARCHANT:

Jeff met his wife Lynn in 1989, married in 1990 and their 1st baby came in 1991. As full-time students, working part-time minimum wage jobs, their total combined income that first year together was only $8,000. But they were still able to pick up their 1st rental property, thanks to seller financing.Over the next several years, while owning and operating a successful landscape company, they invested in real estate on the side. Through determination and delayed gratification, their real estate portfolio reached its peak of 60 properties in 2005.  Although the main objective was to hold assets long-term for passive cashflow, Jeff has also done extensive short-term fix-and-flips, lease-options, and seller-finance deals.
 

When Jeff became a licensed Realtor in 2009, he focused his efforts on two types of people.  One was working with families and individuals who were facing foreclosure and had no equity. His primary objective for them was to help them get a loan modification so they could keep their home.  The other was assisting buyers/investors in building a portfolio of real estate for a secure and predictable retirement, as he and Lynn had done.

 

Today, Jeff & Lynn run the Marchant Real Estate Group & Team Limitless at eXp. They love creating a Better Agent Experience, not only for their clients, but also for other real estate agents.  They are very proud parents of three amazing kids (All licensed real estate agents) and are Nana and Papa to 5 Granddaughters. (with 2 more Grandbabies on the way)

Trevor Thompson is a seasoned Acquisitions expert and Licensed Real Estate Agent affiliated with Equity Real Estate. As a dedicated full-time marketer specializing in Single Family Investment Properties, Trevor boasts a diverse background in real estate, having served as a Rental Property Manager and Project Manager on property rehabs. His current role involves strategically acquiring investment properties for his firm, with a focus on flipping, holding as rentals, or wholesaling to qualified buyers.
 

Beyond his professional endeavors, Trevor holds the esteemed position of Vice President for the SLREIA (Salt Lake Real Estate Investors Association) and is an active member of UVREIA (Utah Valley Real Estate Investors Association). With a wealth of experience and a passion for real estate, Trevor Thompson continues to make significant contributions to the industry.
