JEFF & LYNN MARCHANT: “Loving, Learning, Leverage, Land Lording and Lifestyle Legacy

Jeff and Lynn met in 1989, married in 1990 and their 1st baby came in 1991. Even though their total combined income their first year together was only $8,000, they were still able to pick up their 1st rental property using seller financing.

Over the next several years, while owning and operating a successful landscape company and investing on the side, they built their real estate portfolio to it’s peak of 60 properties in 2005.

Although their main objective was buy-and-hold for passive cashflow, they have also done extensive fix-and-flips, lease-options, and seller-finance deals.

Jeff became a licensed Realtor in 2009 and focused his efforts on two types of people.

One was the families and individuals who were facing foreclosure and had no equity. The first objective was to help them get a loan modification so they could keep their home, and secondary was to short-sale the home.

The other was the buyers/investors looking to build a portfolio of real estate for retirement as he and Lynn had done.

Lynn waited until their youngest child was out of high school before getting her real estate license in 2014.

Today, they are consistently in the Top 500 Realtors in the Salt lake Board and self manage their portfolio that currently sits at 42 properties consisting of 3 commercial buildings, 5 multi-units, and the rest being single-family homes.

They are also very proud that their 3 children, Ashley, Sydney and Chase, are all licensed Realtors and work together with them as the Marchant Real Estate Group, brokered by eXp Realty.

Roger bought his first flip at age 22. As a carpet cleaner he realized that the cost to pay contractors to do all the work on his house would cost too much, so he decided to get “into” construction. Roger became a Concrete mason, then moved into Ironworking, Finish Carpentry, Cabinet Install, Cabinet Building, Framing, Wood Siding, and finally became a contractor in 2001. He has specialized in high-end Finish Carpentry and Remodeling since. He has worked on The McCune Mansion, Jon Huntman Jr’s house, the Largest and Longest Houseboat in Utah and many other awesome projects. Roger bought his first Buy-and-Hold in 2011 and still owns it and 2 others. Roger became a RE Agent in 2016 and works under Randall Wall at Equity Real Estate. Roger is becoming a Wholesaler and is Loving that more than any of his other “jobs.” Roger is a member of UtahREIA, UVREIA and SLREIA. Roger loves helping people with ALL their questions and needs.
