TOPIC: Life After Actively Investing: What I learned In 2020


His entire life Justin has dreamed of a life of financial freedom.  Where he could do what he wanted when he wanted and not have to worry or stress about money.  After investing in real estate for 14 years / flipping several hundred houses, and then spending 7 years mentoring other real estate and business owners Justin had reached all of the financial goals he had set out on and decided it was time to “retire” from active real estate investing and coaching.  

For 9 months he spent his time serving in his church, helping at his kids schools, surfing, playing pickleball and “living the dream” but once Justin had “arrived” and achieved everything he ever thought he wanted he realized this was only the beginning of his journey.  

Justin realized he needed to get back in his genius zone of building businesses.  He is now working towards building a Billion Dollar Software business.  It’s been an interesting experience building a business when you no longer need the money but continue to work hard to challenge yourself, and find different reasons for “why” you are doing what you’re doing.  

Justin resides in San Clemente CA with his beautiful wife and 3 amazing kids.

Navin Thukkaram is a technology investor and entrepreneur. Over his career, he has invested ~$600 million, raised $100 million+ for his current startups and generated over $3 billion in exits. Navin has served on 9 boards of directors, with company values ranging from $50 million to $2 billion+.

Currently, Navin is lead investor / board member of SkyKick, a global cloud software company. Previously he was COO / board member of Qwiki, a mobile startup acquired by Yahoo!. Prior, Navin was a partner of Vulcan Capital Private Equity, the investment firm of Microsoft co-founder, Paul Allen.

Navin has trained and keynoted events at Google, Microsoft, Citibank, Facebook, and Deutsche Bank, among others. He is the benefactor of the Thukkaram Fellowship at Harvard Business School and serves on the advisory board of CSIS, the #1 U.S. defense think tank. Formerly, he served on the Executive Panel of the U.S. Chief of Naval Operations, and as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Born and raised in Cleveland, OH, Darryl spent most of his life in the Buckeye State. Graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Darryl began his professional career as a Safety Engineer with the United States Air Force in Dayton, OH. Furthering his education, he completed his Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering a few years later. In 2015, he transferred to Hill AFB where he got his first taste of the mountains and real estate. In 2016, Darryl bought his first rental property, 2017 obtained his real estate license, 2018 flipped his first property, and in 2019 quit his job and started his own Wholesaling business, called Family Home Solutions. As of today, Darryl is a full-time real estate investor with 40+ wholesale transactions, 5 flips and 3 rentals in his portfolio.

Randall Wall has been investing since 1988 after 5 years thinking about it in the military.
Over 6′ since the sixth grade he remembered working for investors in Portland Oregon as a boy. At a garage sale he bought the book “How I Turned $1,000 Into $10,000,000 In Real Estate” by Robert Allen and fired up he bought his first flip from a realtor relative who didn’t understand investing and promptly lost $50,000.
Randall says ” I credit that single loss for the millions of dollars I have made since that time as a contractor and investing in real estate. If you don’t get back on the horse right away it’s not a learning experience, it’s an evil anecdote..” Randall earned $130,000 on his next flip and has never looked back having completed more than 500 remodels profitably & flipping from $100,000 up to the 2-3M range in several states.
All around expert Randall & team have earned $500,000 a year in wholesaling, bought and sold notes, Had his name on 1,000 short sales, provided hard money, completed more than 100 seller finance properties and they hold rentals for long term profit. “If it’s real estate, can make a profit, and is ethical….we do it!”
Published in several languages Randall has spoken nationally and internationally on just about every topic possible in real estate and investing. He has served as the longest running president of the Salt Lake Real Estate Investor Association since 2006, and sat on the prestigious board of the Utah Association of Realtors for 3 years. From 2005 to 2017 Randall has helped build one of the largest brokerages in the country and the largest in Utah while investing full time. Supporting charities in the US and abroad his friend Bill Bronchick & Randall raised $10,300 for a charity in Nepal in just a few hours in Feb. In his spare time he reads (150 books a year) helps oversee a construction company that has been busy 6 days a week since 2005 (mostly on his projects), is Assistant Scout Master for a refugee troop, and hikes with dog Thor and his lovely wife Usha.

Dorsie Boddiford Kuni is a full-time real estate investor in the Atlanta area. Upon graduating from Georgia Tech with a degree in Building Construction, she took the risk to become a full-time, real estate investing entrepreneur. She has built a business out of flipping houses while striving towards financial freedom with investments through notes and rental property. Dorsie has renovated and flipped a wide variety of homes, from a 1890s cottage in a historic neighborhood to a 5 acre horse farm. Her deals include purchases at foreclosure auctions and tax deed sales, negotiations for owner-financing, deals through door knocking and mail outs, as well as deals with other investors through wrap mortgages, hard money loans, options, wholesale deals, and equity participation. Dorsie’s investments also include a focus on wealth building through retirement accounts as expressed in her book The Solo 401 k: The Entrepreneur’s Guide to a Powerful Pension Plan that she co-wrote with her father, Dyches Boddiford. She is also the author of a home study course on wrap lending called Wrapping for Profits. Dorsie lives in the suburbs of Atlanta with her husband, dog, and 8-month-old baby girl.

September Luncheon – 9/10/2020 Featuring Bill Allen

Bill Allen, a Navy pilot and real estate professional, is the CEO and owner of 7 Figure Flipping and host of the 7 Figure Flipping Podcast, where he leads the top house flipping and wholesaling mentoring groups in the world. Just a few years ago, he was stuck flipping 1 or 2 houses per year and doing all the work himself, but since then, he’s built a systematized business that runs without him. His wholesaling and flipping company Blackjack Real Estate does upwards of 200 deals a year in today’s market.

In 2007, as an accidental landlord, Bill fell into real estate investing when he was deployed overseas and forced to leave his primary residence in San Diego. He continued to buy rentals at each duty station after that. Upon his return from abroad and with marriage and kids in his future, Bill worked on a plan to fully retire in his early 40’s. His rental portfolio was growing but he quickly realized that he was running out of money quicker than he was building passive income. That’s when Bill turned to house flipping to build the capital required to purchase more rentals.

Bill founded Blackjack Real Estate, LLC in 2015 with the mission of helping homeowners sell their houses for cash. The company started in Pensacola, FL and over time has expanded to Chattanooga and Nashville, TN; Huntsville, AL; and Bowling Green, KY.  Based out of Nashville, TN, Bill and his team currently flip and wholesale almost 200 deals per year.
